About us
D&L Better Education established its first physical center in Sydney, Australia during 2013, before offering online tutelage in 2019. Its mission is to discover and guide the unique qualities of students, nurturing their learning abilities and leadership skills. By combining over 30 years of experience in both Western and Eastern education with a team of professional teachers and top graduates, D&L has explored and developed practical tutorials that effectively enhance academic performance and learning capabilities. D&L represents "Discovery and Development" and "Learning and Leadership."
Since its establishment, the center has organized multiple educational seminars, providing practical and effective educational consultations. Through high-quality teaching, many students have achieved excellent results in exams such as Naplan, OC, and Selective, and have obtained full scholarships to top private schools for both boys and girls.
With a comprehensive and progressive system of tutelage and a diversified educational service system, the center has developed individually effective educational plans for thousands of families which include family education and promotion of practical child development. Using a scientific approach, the center aims to achieve specific educational goals and cultivate internationally competitive talents who possess comprehensive development skills in line with the demands of the 21st century.
The founder of the centre, principal Manfay Zhao, holds bachelor's degrees in literature and journalism, a master's degree in education, and more than 30 years of educational experience. She is an expert in the Australian education system, having created a new style of teaching through combining select elements of Western and Asian methodologies. She has successfully trained numerous pupils, including her own son, into receiving full scholarships from top private schools such as Sydney Grammar, Abbotsleigh and Presbyterian Ladies’ College etc.
As a passionate educator who understands international styles well, she has committed to focusing on helping students through integrating and refining practical pathways, thus better equipping them to thrive in the 21st century.

In 2023, Principal Zhao together with renowned Australian and international musicians, Rising Stars teachers and education experts established the Sydney School of Music and Fine Arts.
International Pathway Program
DL Better Education's International Education Pathway Program is designed by the best teachers with years of experience in teaching English in New South Wales. The focus of the program is to help students gain a deep, rich and complete understanding of the English language. Through the program, students will begin to build solid language and critical thinking skills, which are critical for success in all aspects of schooling.
International Pathways is a residential English Language Intensive Course of Study (ELICOS) program for international students for up to 12 months of study. It provides exceptionally high quality teaching and cultural training.
It is a boutique, English language and cultural familiarisation program in collaboration with Presbyterian Ladies' College (PLC) Armidale, within two school campuses in different locations: PLC Armidale for girls and Scots All Saints College, Bathurst, for boys. It is for Middle School aged international students, aiming to provide pathways to further Australian education at high school and university.
